We believe travel should bring us closer together - as a family and as a community
When done with intention, travel has the power to nourish our souls and help us and our children become more resilient and well-rounded human beings.
But getting our families outside, on a plane, or even to experience a new activity can be scary. Doing new things, in spaces where it might not always be safe to be BIPOC, with children who are often unpredictable in their behaviors is enough of a fear to keep most well-intentioned parents at home.
Beautiful Brown Adventures hopes to provide you with enough tools to empower you to share the world with your family and raise thoughtful, globally-minded, and antiracist children.
We know first hand how difficult it can be to take a child on a trip
We also know how impactful those experiences are to strengthen family bonds, learn about history and the world around us, and increase empathy and understanding.
We have traveled the world with our families, and through trail and error, we have learned a lot about bringing our beautiful brown babies to new spaces. Beautiful Brown Adventures is the place where we share:
- Travel inspiration and itineraries for your next adventure
- How-to guides to get you and your family outside
- Travel tips to ensure your journey goes smoothly
- A community of beautiful BIPOC families taking the antiracist mission to change how we travel, and how we explore with our kids
At Beautiful Brown Adventures, we believe:
In the fight for social justice
and the collective liberation of impressed people everywhere
In sharing lived experiences
of historically marginalized communities, namely, people of the global majority, need to be expressed and shared more widely across our white-dominated world
That travel is powerful
When done with intention, travel has the power to nourish our souls and helps us and our children become more resilient and well-rounded human beings
In supporting sustainable practices
to allow our world to exist at least seven generations from now. This is the responsibility of individuals and those who wield the most power and resources, such as political leaders, corporations, and the wealthy
The impact of our travel choices
and how we spend our money have an effect on the community we are visiting, the environment we are in, and on our families
In the strength of community
to effect change, help us heal ourselves, share resources, and guide future generations
Here's how to join our mission to change the world, one adventure at a time
Beautiful Brown Adventures is here to support your family on your journey from your living room to the wilderness.

Hi, I'm Jelly!
Kumusta sa tanan! My name is Angelica (aka Jelly, she/her) and I love to adventure and learn about as much of the world as I possibly can. I enjoy putting together itineraries and especially trying to make trips as inclusive as possible.
So after my little person arrived in 2017, I became (sort of?) excited about the new challenges that we’d experience traveling as a family of three. How could I still maintain some semblance of my former travel lifestyle while also being attuned to my family’s needs?
I can’t say I always get it right, but I do know that we’ve had a lot of fun with the twists and turns that go along with our new travel configuration. It’s about the journey, right? Thanks for joining us on ours!
More about Jelly
- I'm a pesce(mostly-vege)tarian
- I am a mama to one kid and plenty more plantitas
- Bisaya is my first language (my parents are from Cebu, Philippines); I'm also learning conversational Spanish and French!
Hi, I'm Angel!
Greetings fellow travelers! My name is Angelina (aka Angel, she/her/hers) and I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area.
I am a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde (klahowya!) and a daughter of a Puerto Rican New Yorker (hola!).
As a mixed-race woman of color I have sometimes struggled with where I fit in but always found peace while traveling.
I want to see more families like ours traveling the world, sharing stories, and making memories together. I truly believe that travel helps shape kinder, more empathetic, and – if done with intention – antiracist kids. Let’s do this!
3 things about Angel
- I traveled to 37 countries, 4 with kids
- I am a doula and a home birth advocate (ask me about my home births!)
- I love to dance - salsa, hula, freeze dance, all of it
We are beautiful, brown, mama-friends who value travel, family, and adventure
We are so happy that you are here. Let’s continue the adventure, together!
In solidarity,
